Year of the Dragon

Happy Year of the Dragon!
May your year be filled with good health, great wealth, and an abundance of joy & happiness.

And of course, may your dining table always be
surrounded with great company and filled with delicious food.

I apologize for currently not having any food updates. This year started off quite busy and I've had a lot on my plate to handle, especially this past week and in the coming weeks. However, I will (hopefully!) make something soon to share with you all.

Also, it was nice to finally have a little break yesterday to go to the Lunar New Year street festival with my mom and aunt. Lots of hustling and bustling in the beautiful weather.

Lunar New Year's Eve Dinner

L to R, T to B: fish maw w/crab meat soup; braised sea cucumber w/mushrooms & chestnuts; ground crab & shrimp meat wrapped in deep fried beancurd (tofu skin) sheets; braised yee mein w/lobster & gravy

L to R, T to B: fried fish w/steamed leek; steamed napa cabbage w/ground chicken; braised beef on a bed of lettuce & tomatoes; cold dish of vegetables w/shrimp, 1000 year old egg, chicken (apparently the chicken skin was re-stuffed w/grounded chicken, pâté, and black peppercorns! to which it now looks like cold cuts...), and pickled leeks

and of course, we had to end the day with CORN IN A CUP! :)

I hope everyone also had a wonderful weekend!
